Mr Strauss has been fantastic. His confidence in a positive outcome, while clearly explaining the risks involved made me feel very reassured.

Thank you Dr Strauss and your brilliant team at The Royal Marsden. I suspect that I, like many cancer patients, find the whole experience terrifying though we may not present that face to the world. Dr Strauss is straightforward and honest in his appraisal which helps greatly. The main concern in these corona-beset times is to avoid delays in treatment and get rid of that cancer that has become such an unwelcome, uninvited guest. Again, Dr Strauss talked of finding creative ways around transport problems which was reassuring too. The relief after surgery has been huge and thanks seem inadequate but they are very heartfelt. #sayThankYou

‘Thank you’ is our way of showing appreciation, gratitude and value to someone who has done us a good turn. Someone who’s used their skills to benefit us and others in a remarkable way. Yet there are times when ‘thank you’ inadequately capture what we want to say. And then we may mumble or say something stupid instead, when all we want to show is gratitude. But, I will say ‘Thank you’ Dr Strauss for using your skills to save my leg. ‘Thank you’ for your good work ethics and thank you for being an excellent surgeon. ‘Thank you’ is the way I express myself when I’m happy and grateful. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

From the very start Mt Strauss made a harrowing experience bearable. Each time I met him, I was left in a positive frame of mind with hope for my recovery.

Mr Strauss and his team removed an extremely difficult and rare sarcoma from my chest wall. I am eternally grateful to them for saving my life. Mr Strauss was excellent in explaining the surgery and the aftercare. The complex reconstruction he did was excellent and no one would even know the kind of operation I had by looking at me. My scarring is healing nicely and I am fully functional now after only three months post-op. The sarcoma team at RMH are exceptional and I would recommend Mr Strauss and his team without reservation.
