No communication, not trustworthy - tried to sell invasive surgical treatment instead of offering a minimally invasive and appropriate option.
I was suffering from both inguinal and paraumbilical hernias and with the help of my GP I chose to see Mr May privately at the Duchy. Mr May clearly explained the options and I decided to proceed with 'keyhole' surgery as a day patient. I had no complications and only fairly minor discomfort requiring no pain relievers. After some six weeks I am now 100% better.
I would like to say that I found Mr May easy to get along with, informative and caring, and very professional at his work. These comments would also apply to the staff and facilities at the Duchy hospital.
Having chosen Mr May, I found his initial consultation, and explanation of the proposed surgery, reassuring and readily understandable. I received good care on the day of the surgery itself, and my follow-up consultation confirmed that the procedure had been wholly successful. I am happy to recommend Mr May's services.
I specifically requested a private appointment with Mr May, he is a caring competent and compassionate surgeon. He takes the time to answer any questions you may have and puts your mind entirely at ease.
