I underwent TMJ arthroscopy surgery 2 years ago and have had the best care and aftercare from Mr Komath and his team. The results of the surgery have been amazing and I now have no pain or problems whatsoever. A lovely consultant who is very professional, caring, trustworthy and extremely good at his profession. Maxillofacial surgery at its very best! Nicky his PA is so helpful and was always so easily contactable and the physiotherapist Katy was just amazing. My whole experience has been an exceptionally positive one and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I sought out Mr Komath after my jaw locked open and I had difficulty closing my mouth naturally. Difficulty eating and pain then followed and didn't subside. Mr Komath was highly recommended to me by an orthodontist and I am very thankful to her. Tests were rapidly organised by Mr Komath and a diagnosis made with a comprehensive treatment plan. I am now 6 months post surgery (bilateral level 2 arthroscopy and PRP injections for advanced arthritis) and have made a full recovery. The surgery itself was stress free and I felt fully informed at all steps of the procedure. I am now pain free and can eat all foods and fully mobilise my jaw. I am very pleased with my treatment and outcome and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Komath to others who are experiencing symptoms like myself.

I had been suffering for over 10 years with jaw pain, jaw locking & jaw instability which was getting progressively worse. I had tried all conservative treatments which did not help and felt this condition was having a big impact on my life. At my consultation with Mr Komath he immediately put me at ease. He explained my MRI and X-ray results and showed me the pictures of my condition. I had advanced arthritis of both jaw joints and I was recommended Level 2 arthroscopy and PRP injection in TMJ. The procedure was fully explained to me along with any potential side effects/risks. I was advised I should have physiotherapy and to wear a jaw splint. Nicky, Mr Komath’s Secretary who has always been so kind and helpful arranged these initial appointments for me. Following the procedure I had no pain, just some slight tenderness and tightness over the incision sites. I had some swelling which was eased with ice packs over the following 24 hours. The procedure had gone really well. I was given post op exercises to commence gently after a week and restarted physiotherapy shortly after. I have had a very good outcome and to date I am pain free. I am pleased I had this procedure done and I would highly recommend Mr Komath, he is such a skilled surgeon, professional and caring.

When I met Mr Komath, I had been in terrible long term pain from my TMJ. I had previously had keyhole surgery and wash out of my joints with another private surgeon. The pain came back after 6 months of response. Mr Komath gave me a good understanding of my condition at the consultation. He was empathetic and kind in his approach. I underwent level 3 arthroscopic surgery where he expertly managed ro stich the TMJ disc through 4 tiny key holes. I am now in no pain and the click has disappeared. I recommend him.
