Operation: Post-op: right ankle arthroscopy debridement and reconstruction right ATF ligament. The treatment plan: This was explained very clearly on several occasions. Mr Rajan checked at every opportunity that I understood the procedure and the potential risks involved. Surgeon's professionalism/bedside manners: Mr Rajan was very professional but also very approachable. He has a very kind and caring beside manner and was lovely to deal with. Surgery was always my last option and not one that I wanted to undertake. Mr Rajan helped explain and re-assure me whilst never pushing me to make a decision. I am now recovered ahead of schedule and am stronger than before. I am extremely happy with my surgery and wish I had done it sooner!

I would like to give feedback from my recent experience at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, Cambridge. I was treated by Mr Daniel Rajan, Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon. Initially my treatment plan was made very clear, and I decided to go ahead with my foot surgery which was a calcaneal osteotomy with tendon transfer. Mr Rajan was extremely professional and treated me with great understanding and kindness. My surgery went ahead as planned and I was treated extremely well throughout by Mr Rajan and the team at the Spire. My foot is recovering and healing very well, and I would highly recommend Mr Rajan to anyone considering intensive foot surgery. Thank you so very much Mr Rajan, you have made a massive improvement to my right foot, and I look forward to a much more active lifestyle and future.

I cannot thank Mr. Daniel Rajan enough for the help he has given me. I saw him, for the first time, at the end of October 2021, after I had already booked a major surgery - hindfoot reconstruction osteotomy & tendon transfer – with another surgeon, who didn’t offer me any other option. After hearing the advice of friends and family to have a second opinion, I met Mr. Rajan last who examined me thoroughly, studied the MRI and advised me to do some exercises and see if the ankle improved, since the tendon was weak but not torn. Well, he was absolutely right and I’m tremendously grateful for his professionalism, expertise and sympathy. If I had not met him, I’d still be recovering from an unnecessary major surgery. He is also very approachable and caring and puts you at ease. I thoroughly recommend him.

Response from Mr Daniel Rajan

Many thanks for your kind words of appreciation. Delighted that you responded well to the Ankle Rehab Program and didn't have to go through that major procedure of hindfoot reconstruction. Although I do a lot of hindfoot operations, it is always my practice to first try non-operative modalities of treatment. You were patient, compliant with my advice and happy to go through the Ankle Rehab Program. Last but not the least, well done to you and the Physio team as well.

Surgical procedure: Percutaneous Achilles tendon reconstruction. Mr Rajan treated me with the utmost kindness from the first time that I met him. He has a lovely bedside manner and is very professional at all times. He carefully explained my treatment plan and encouraged me fully in my recovery. I would confidently recommend him to a friend or family, who needed such surgery.
