I have now had 2 successful knee replacement operations under the care of Mr Daniel Williams which has been quite life changing as I can now walk steadily and pain free on good strong joints. Mr Williams has a good Dr/patient relationship and a positive approach, he makes good assessments from the first appointment and explains the procedure well and gives good practical advice both pre and post operatively backed up with internet sites.
I found Dan Williams to be modern in his approach but with great care and consideration for his older patients. I never felt I was wasting his time with my own concerns as he always thoroughly explained procedures and anticipated outcomes including setbacks and dangers
I would prefer that these services were less based on internet questionairs and more on telephone conversations and physical meetings but I appreciate the difficulty of our times
He is very dedicated to patient care. He made me feel like I could enjoy my life and surroundings and get better by walking and exercising regularly. He has a good listening ear and made me feel more confident which has enabled me to enjoy my life better with his suggestions. He is a good listener and enables me to look for new activities such as dancing and my static bike to improve my movement. He has certainly helped me to move forward.
I have nothing but praise for Mr Williams and his team. I was listened to and any queries answered. Treatment at the Duchy Hospital was very good and everything went very smoothly. Most important of all is my hip is pain free and I am able to anything I like. Follow up was done by phone and any points I had were dealt with. I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Williams to others.
I had a partial knee replacement on my right knee,as i had oa on both knees and the right at that time was bone on bone and extremely painful, i saw Mr Dan Williams and was given a partial knee replacement as hed advised, he went through all the options with me and told me any risks involved in the operation, i had the operation and followed all the advise he gave me, and i was surprised how quickly i became mobile again and no pain!! I would always recommend him as a brilliant surgeon , as he listened to any worries i had and advised me in everything, i am now waiting for my left knee replacement by him, and cannot wait as the pain is extruciating and i know the difference it will make to my life again and ill be able to be mobile with no pain in either knee. I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon.

Profile
Mr Dan H Williams MBBCh MSc FRCS
Mr Dan H Williams is a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery at Bath Clinic, Fortius Clinic, London, Duchy Hospital and Royal Cornwall Hospital with an interest in Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Replacement.
Dan qualified from University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998 and training in South Wales, Australia and South Africa before completing his higher surgical training in the South West of England. He underwent sub-specialty fellowships in trauma, complex knee and hip replacement surgery in Seattle, Oxford and Vancouver.
A Master's degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University provided a basic science foundation upon which he’s built a strong research portfolio. Published work has looked at hip resurfacing (and the recent problems with metal ion levels), clinical outcomes following joint replacement (with an emphasis on returning to sporting activity) and techniques of revision hip and knee surgery.
Dan wanted to bring his research experience into everyday practice; to quantify and capture the impact of surgery on patients and to track these benefits into the long-term. Finding nothing appropriate available, he helped to develop MyClinicalOutcomes, a web-based system that monitors patient symptoms remote from the hospital before and after treatment and into the long term.
Outside of work he enjoys all that the outdoors has to offer while spending time with friends and family.
