He took his time and did a thorough job. I was walking on my leg within a day, I was pain free within a week, and excellent care to manage infection.

Having been completely failed by the NHS system, I saw Mr Arvinte as a private patient at Bridges Clinic in December 2022, really just to get an assessment of my hip condition and treatment options. He advised that it was obvious from the x-ray that the hip joint was failing (bone on bone as he put it) and no treatment, other than a complete hip replacement, was going to alleviate the pain and discomfort. He recommended the operation be performed at Bedford Hospital given my age (91) and other medical conditions, and did warn me that if I chose to go ahead, there was a not insignificant chance that I might not make it off the table.
I did choose to go ahead and the surgery was carried out in late January 2023 at Bedford Hospital. Although the post-op 4 night stay in Bedford Hospital as part of the package could have been better, I have to say Mr Arvinte and his team provided an excellent level of care and attention before, during, and after the procedure, and I am more than satisfied with the outcome.

The operation was sorted out really quickly after suffering quite a lot of pain in the hip. The level of care and dealings with the clinic has been brilliant and have recommended Dan to several people since the operation.

I had a hip replacement by Dan Arvinte. He and his team were kind, caring and very attentive. Even on discharge from his care I was confident I could contact him if necessary. I was made to feel comfortable at all times and I wouldn’t hesitate to consult him again if needed.

Mr Dan Arvinte is a well recognised Orthopaedic Consultant with a special interest in hip and knee pathology. He has a vast international experience. He has done his basic and specialist Trauma and Orthopaedics training in Romania, Belgium, Austria, Japan, Hong Kong and United Kingdom. He is Fellowship trained in Hip and Knee Replacement procedures (primary, complex primary and revision surgery) and knee arthroscopic procedures. His results in UK National Joint Registry are excellent. He is also Regional Clinical Supervisor for medical students from Cambridge Medical School and a clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors from East of England Deanery. He has had numerous presentations to national and international conferences and published in well-recognised peer reviewed Journals.
