5 and a half years ago I was hit by agonising pain in my leg which left me on the floor, unable to walk or stand for long at all. Thereafter followed a journey where I encountered a number of so called specialists, surgeons, physio's, pain management experts etc, all who failed to find a solution. Only after a consultation with the fabulous Joel Proskewitz at Performance RX was I introduced to Colin Natali at the Schoen (now Fortius Clinic) in London. Colin was fantastic from day 1. He knows his stuff. Period. But he also insisted we tried everything before going down the surgery route. That was always a last resort. He is not the type of guy that will just cut you open and hope for the best. Months later following detailed investigation (and a continuing debilitating pain) however, we opted for surgery and I underwent a 2 stage, 2 level fusion at the Clinic. All of the staff involved were absolutely fantastic. The facilities are superb, even the food is great. Colin himself is an absolute legend. Aside from his great humour and superb bedside manner, his professionalism is second to none. I can walk again, I can stand again, I have my life back. I would not hesitate for 1 minute to recommend this man and the Schoen/Fortius Clinic. Fantastic quality.

Quite simply, Colin Natali saved my spine. I had to undergo a fusion surgery for my lumbar spine, which turned out to be way more complicated than originally thought. Throughout the whole time, Mr Natali displayed his experience and professionalism and planned every step, with meticulous detail and executed it with world class accuracy. His years of experience dealing with complex spinal issues definitely played a huge role in my eventual successful outcome - he is smart, meticulous, experienced and a truly wonderful human being, who really cares for his patients and guiding them through the spine surgery process. Mr.Natali found my brain tumour by insisting I had an MRI for what I thought was just a pain in my neck! I thought steroid injections would sort it but, having not given me an MRI for 5 years, he gently insisted. A month later I had brain surgery to remove an egg sized cyst with a pea sized tumour in it. Saved my life. Forever grateful!

I have been a repeated patient of Mr Natali’s over the years, bringing him numerous problems to solve. He came recommended to me by another highly regarded surgeon (in a different speciality) and since seeing him many years ago, I have never trusted anyone else to look after my spinal health. Aside from his high level of skill and expertise, it is the empathetic nature of his care, the focus on the patient and not just the scans or the problem that makes him truly different in the care he gives, when I compare to previous consultants I have seen over the years. He considers the life of the patient, the impact of pain, their mental health and their views as well as the clinical evidence. This gives a fully rounded approach to his care giving. He is also incredibly approachable, always has time and is completely reassuring in his demeanour. As an advocate of conservative treatments and also the patient self-helping to be pro-actively involved in their own recovery or treatment, he does not opt for a surgery first approach. You feel that he exhausts all possibilities but ultimately gives you the treatment that is right for you. I could not recommend a surgeon more highly than Mr Natali.

I have been seeing Mr Natali for almost 6 months following a prolapsed disc in my neck. Having had spinal surgery previously, I was not keen on having more unless absolutely necessary. Mr Natali took a conservative approach with my prolapse and even though at times I didn't think it was working, I have now recovered from incredibly painful symptoms and have managed to avoid surgery. Mr Natali is always so calm and patient, even when I asked silly questions! He explained everything incredibly well and I always knew I was in the best hands. I would recommend Mr Natali for anyone with back or spine issues and should I have any issues arise in the future, I will most definitely return to Mr Natali.
