An incredible surgeon, with great experience, impeccable knowledge, AND an amazing bedside manner. He took the time and care to explain my results with me in a kind, informative and reassuring way. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask many questions. He is an extremely kind and compassionate doctor. I would highly recommend Mr Colin Hart. He is rare (I have seen lots of surgeon's in the past 5 years)

I searched extensively to find the right surgeon for a second opinion with regards to my ongoing Diverticulitis episodes. I picked Mr Hart because of his straight forward approach, sensing that he’d be honest and upfront about my condition and the discussion of upto date scans. After three consultations and many questions, I made a fact based decision to go ahead with surgery. Which wasn’t without its risks. I came through the surgery with a better than expected outcome - he’s a brilliant surgeon, with a down to earth, caring bed side manner. I felt that he was very much with me on this journey to “fix me”. So, if you are looking for an outstanding surgeon who will totally “take care” of you, then Mr Hart is your man.

I arrived in A and E with a severe bout of diverticulitis and saw Colin Hart, after undergoing many tests he said he could operate but he would prefer to plan it rather than going ahead as an emergency. He said he would put me on the urgent list as I had suffered many of these attacks since being diagnosed in 2008 and left just to put up with it, not by the Royal Free. I was admitted just a few weeks later and had the surgery to remove the diseased section of colon and had a colostomy. Colin and his team were honest and explained everything in terms that I would understand. Unfortunately I developed a parastomal hernia and in order to deal with that I was operated on again to reverse the colostomy and repair the hernia. During the surgery Colin felt that I would benefit from having an ileostomy, to enable full recovery of the colon, the hernia repair could not be done. 18 months later I was admitted to have the ileostomy reversed and the hernias repaired. At all consultations, appointments and hospital admissions Colin and his team were absolutely brilliant, I always felt totally at ease and given the full facts of my condition. I have every faith in Colin and tell everyone what a wonderful person he is.
