Dr Munch operated a bypass on me 1999 Friday 13th at LGI . I am now 78 years old and have had a fantastic life since playing golf 3 times a week without any angina or heart restrictive heart problems . The man deserves a wonderful retirement and I wish him every happiness in his retirement. . Thanks Duncan Moss

In September 2012 I had open heart surgery and a mechanical mitral valve replacement for my severely leaky valve. I had the privilege of having Mr Munsch as my surgeon. Here I am now 6 years later, age 66. My heart is in great shape and I lead a fit and active life. Thank you to Mr Munsch, a truly great heart surgeon. His communication before, during and after the surgery was exemplary. He cared. Sheer professionalism and competence. I heard he had retired also. Hope other heart surgeons learnt from the master before he left.

If it were not for Mr Munsch odds are I would not be typing this now I had a leaking heart valve which I now realise was causing problems a great man and surgeon total respect ! I gather he may have retired now ? well I guess well deserved and I hope totally enjoyed but such a pity to loose such a talented surgeon , must be a horrendous weight of responsibility to do a job like that day after day Mr Munsch must be responsible for saving and extending very many lives a great man !

Can't say enough about this man. He is the best. He fixed me and gave me another chance to live a full life after a heart attack. I had a triple bypass and that was in 2002 and I'm still here now facing retirement. Should I ever need another bypass I pray he will still be around to do it. Thank you so much. Mr Ken Spencer Huddersfield

I'm told CM has now retired and when I heard that, I was sorely disappointed. I believe CM made my life liveable. Eighteen years ago I had a heart attack and needed a bypass operation. Fortunately, my wife worked at Leeds LGI and knew who to trust. I believe CM was also preferred by my cardiologist, Jimmy Mac. Between them, they got things right. How do I know? I'm still hear today - That's how! When I asked CM after the operation, 'how long could I expect?' he said ' 0n current evidence, ten years, but forget that, GO OUT AND LIVE YOUR LIFE'. Those words have formed my philosophy of life ever since. Those 18yrs have been the most fulfilling of all. Look, I know it may all end tomorrow, but that has not stopped me from challenging those who say I should not stretch myself but settle for a quiet sedentary existence. CM was right! Life is for living -love it!!
