I tried to write this review on the Benenden review app but couldn’t find Mr James listed under the surgeons. So…I had a lump (very tiny but painful for a long time) removed from my thumb a week ago by Mr James and as mini-op’s go I cannot fault my experience. Mr James, and his team, were all incredibly friendly, professional, kind and incredibly slick at each of their roles within the team. As operations go, it was actually almost a pleasure and I’m very much looking forward to removing my bandage and having a working thumb again. Thank you!

I have had four surgeries with Mr James after a fall and can’t recommend him enough plus having steroid injections in my hands to help relieve my arthritis pain. He is the most friendly, helpful, easy to talk to person. He explains exactly what he can and will be doing, great diagrams!, He is always so open and very honest but you need that when going for multiple surgeries. Thanks to him I can use my hand again and I am very grateful to him. I recommend this surgeon over the others as had experience with a different one and the totally opposite service sadly.

Mr James recently carried out a corrective procedure for Dupuytrens Contracture on my affected hand . I feel fortunate to have had Mr James carry out the procedure. He listened and explained all aspects of the problem and the required surgery. He is professional in his approach and I find highly skilled. I would recommend Mr James to anybody whose complaint lies within his skill set.

Christopher James recently performed trigger finger surgery on my right hand. He has a very pleasant professional manner and explained what was to be done putting me at ease as I was quite anxious. He gently administered the local anaesthetic so there was no pain just an awareness of the procedure. I also commend the 3 nursing staff in his team who helped to make for a relaxed atmosphere in the theatre with music in the background. The operation was successfully performed and over in a short time and Christopher explained clearly what aftercare was required. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his expert care.

I first saw Mr James in November, regarding a trapeziectomy. Being a bit nervous, I was told that I could have a general anaesthetic. Nearer the time and after my pre-assessment, I was told that it would be best if I had a block instead. That made me even more nervous, but on the day, he came for a chat with me and reassured me that I would be fine and explained it to me. He had a marvellous team, who should also be commended; Mark was the anaesthetist, who also put my mind at rest and was so good that when the time came, I didn't even realise that I'd been injected. I was given mild sedation and dozed for a while, but when I came to, I was able to chat happily with everyone whilst the operation was in full swing. The whole team were relaxed and jolly, there was banter and laughter, which certainly kept my spirits up. My after care has been superb, with physiotherapy and advice on scar management and massage. I saw Mr James today and I like to think that he is as delighted with my progress as I am. I would certainly recommend him to everyone and if I need anymore hand or wrist operations, I would certainly endeavour to have him as my surgeon again. Thank you so much and I look forward to being pain free in a few months.
