I was delighted that mr dawson recognised and diagnosed my condition ,recommended an op which it seems will be very quick . So at the moment i am hoping that i will soon be alleviaited of my long term problem . To sum up so far from reference from gp to incontinence clinic to consultant has been very quick and efficient, and i hope this will continue to be the case throughout my treatment.

Mr Dawson always explained concerns and treatments in an appropriate way and with sufficient detail for me to make decisions. This gave me great trust in him and my treatment. I was concerned about having a general anaesthetic because of my history of problems with it and Mr Dawson reassured me that the operation could be carried out using other sedating methods and he ensured that my file was noted to this effect. When this was missed by admissions the whole team worked very hard to get a resolution so that the operation could go ahead. I would be having a spinal block which necessitated an overnight stay but the operation for which I was admitted was done under day surgery. The whole team was very supportive, kept me informed and turned the situation around. I felt very well cared for and that my personal needs had been addressed by the team. My experience has also reassured me for the future as I now know that I do have alternatives to General Anaesthetic.
