Mr Christopher Bailey

Mr Bailey showed a great deal of sympathetic interest in my knee problem. Although I could still walk some considerable distance before surgery (albeit in pain, wearing a knee support and taking painkillers), he felt that a knee replacement would benefit me so that I could continue my preferred exercise - walking / hiking. I was in my early 60's at the time of the operation, and would hope to have a number of years' walking ahead of me. Three months later I am back to walking long distances (10 / 11 miles in a day), completely pain-free. He showed me the "before" and "after" x-rays, and explained in detail what the procedure entailed. Mr Bailey has done a 1st class job and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Mr Bailey seems well prepared before any consultation having reviewed the case beforehand. He is obviously a skilled surgeon. I had extensive arthritis affecting the ability to straighten the leg. The leg following surgery is correctly aligned and I am able to fully straighten it. Bending is still restricted after 8 weeks but is improving daily. More detail on the prognosis going forward would be beneficial but he was happy to answer any questions during consultation.

In April 2023 I underwent a total knee replacement following consultations with Mr Bailey as an NHS patient at Winchester Royal County Hospital. I'm am now 12 weeks post operation and could not be happier with the entire process. Mr Bailey gave me good advice, and kept me informed, I felt totally confident that I was receiving the best advice and care. I could mot be happier with the outcome, I have a new strong, straight knee with absolutely no pain whatsoever, which after many years of pain from 'bone on bone' osteoarthritis is an absolute joy. I'm a 59 year old woman, who has had life on hold for too long, now I'm able to enjoy a normal life again, no more pain. I cannot recommend Chris Bailey highly enough, the entire procedure has been excellent.

I had my knee replaced at Sarum hospital in May, carried out by Mr Bailey and his team. I received excellent care from Mr Bailey. He was friendly and put me at my ease. He also took time to answer my questions, which I found very reassuring. The whole team were were lovely. I was treated under the NHS at Sarum but I was treated with the same care and attention as a fee paying patient. A very positive experience.

I recently had the need to have the cartilage in my right knee repaired. Chris Bailey performed the surgery, the result of which has been amazing, but prior to that Mr Bailey listened, understood and suggested alternatives to surgery. He is considerate and understanding, so thank you , my knee is now pain free.
