I was under Mr Anderson's care through a cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgical procedure.
He clearly knows his stuff inside out - those are table stakes - but what makes the difference is his reassuring and supportive approach
He is unfailingly approachable, calm and patient. He always takes the time to explain what are often complex concepts in a clear and understandable way, and always ensures your questions and concerns are addressed.
The timely and helpful support from his secretary removed a source of worry from what might otherwise have been a very stressful process.

A very professional, courteous and skilled doctor. He listens attentively and gives clear information on both good and bad news. A very skilled surgeon. Encourages good patient practice and points out how it can be improved.

I cannot rate Mr Anderson highly enough. My condition came completely out of the blue as I had had no symptoms and therefore was a great shock. However, at all times I felt totally supported by Mr Anderson. He kept me informed of the processes, explained everything clearly and was very patient in answering all my questions. I would also like to say a big thank you to Janine as she was also very supportive all the way through, from before my operation right through to the follow up; she was extremely helpful and reassuring and always came back to me very promptly.

Mr Anderson listened and fed back accurately in his written report to me after the first consultation. He has a relaxed and calm style but is a very clear communicator. I now fully understand what is going on with my bladder and prostate. He was able to advise me realistically about my treatment options going forward balancing cost and urgency.

Mr Christopher Anderson is a consultant Urological surgeon with a general Urological practise as well as a specialist interest in renal and prostate cancer. In his general Urological practise he manages a wide spectrum of conditions : urinary infections, voiding and bladder problems, enlarged prostates (BPH), haematuria (blood in urine), circumcision, fertility workup, vasectomy / reversal vasectomy and erectile dysfunction. He has particular expertise in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgical approaches. Mr Anderson completed his undergraduate work at Stellenbosch and his postgraduate training in Cape Town, South Africa, before taking up a substantive consultant post at St George's Healthcare in 1999. He undertook fellowships to Cleveland, the University of Miami and Detroit in the United States before travelling to the University of Leipzig in Germany to further his training in both renal and prostate cancer surgery. Mr Anderson was one of the first to adopt laparoscopic techniques in urology surgery in the UK. In 2004 he introduced laparoscopic renal cryotherapy, also the first operation of its kind in the UK. He continued to develop this technique and has the largest series with long term follow-up in the country. He was an integral member of the team that pioneered robotic surgery in the UK, introducing the robotic surgery programme to St George's Healthcare in July 2008, and has successfully developed the service as lead robotic surgeon.
