The first time I met Mr Ekwobi he made me feel relaxed and explained the procedure for my diep breast operation with ease and respect. My operation on 4th January 2021 was a long one 15 hours, during which a small tumour was also found in my chest cavity. Mr Ekwobi made unique decisions during my operation to make my reconstruction as aesthetically pleasing for me, and was extremely empathetic in his bedside manner when he spoke to me the following day. An exceptional surgeon.

Mr Ekwobi operated on me in November 2020 and did my Breast Reconstruction surgery. I couldn’t be more pleased with Mr Ekwobi and his team. They have achieved what I thought was going to be impossible due to me having fairly poor IV access and was unable to obtain a successful CT scan beforehand. Mr Ekwobi listened to me and accepted that I would not be able to have a PICC line inserted in the time frame we had to obtain a CT scan due to my very deep rooted fear of needles, IV access devices ect. We mutually agreed on going ahead with the surgery but under the condition that I may wake up without a reconstruction. This meant everything to me as the patient because it meant I was listened to, my wishes were understood and a plan was made which incorporated both patient and healthcare professional input. The final result is even better than I could have ever hoped for. I now have symmetry in my bras and clothing which is all I ever wanted. Mr Ekwobi has done an incredible job with my surgery and with following me up post-operatively as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Ekwobi as your plastic surgeon.

Mr Ekwobi removed a SCC tumour from my ankle 3 months ago. A skin graft had been considered necessary pre-op. However, thanks to his skill, this was avoided which had numerous benefits. The op. was carried out under local anaesthetic but was no more painful than having a tooth filled despite the awkward site of the tumour. No post-op. problems arose. 3 months on, the wound site has completely healed leaving just a scar which is gradually fading. I have not suffered any loss in mobility or nerve damage which were risk factors. At my last review, there were no signs of the tumour re-emerging. Very happy with the treatment I received and the outcome.

Mr Ekwobi was respectful of my condition, having been referred to plastics due to the location of my cancer. Mr Ekwobi listened to my concerns regarding my personal circumstances (which I should add had no consequence to my surgery); Mr Ekwobi completely accommodated me even given the bizarre crazy world we are living in, and for this I am not only so very grateful for his treatment and care, but also for supporting my complicated family dynamics. Many thanks
