A great experience with Dr Chidi Ekwobi. After a skin cancer diagnosis Dr Ekwobi has been my surgeon, he is a very friendly and approachable doctor who takes time to get to know patients making the hospital experience much more comfortable. The surgery performed was done to an extremely high standard, looking much neater than expected and the follow up care has been exceptional.

I have no complaints about Dr Ekwobi. He was very professional, listened to me and ensured I knew all the ins and outs of the operation. He kept regular check on me then was even kind enough to follow up check me at Lancaster where I live. A very exceptional doctor.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2019. I met Mr Ekwobi prior to my elected reconstruction and my procedure. From that first meeting Mr Ekwobi made me feel comfortable and relaxed about my procedure. He carefully and empathetically explained what was going to happen and his expectations of a good result. it was a scary time for me but within a short time of meeting with Mr Ekwobi he made me feel confident of a good result and at ease. At that initial meeting Mr Ekwobi made it clear that I was important and that he would use all his expertise, with his team to ensure a result I would be happy with. On the day of my procedure Mr Ekwobi talked to my husband and I at length ensuring we were relaxed about what was facing us. After my mastectomy and reconstruction Mr Ekwobi, or one of the team visited me every day to check me out and have a chat. It was clear to me that Mr Ekwobi was a well respected individual and that he created a relaxed but strong team around him. He certainly has patient care at the top of his agenda. Following my operation I had, on several occasions to speak with his secretary. it was apparent that she had a very good working relationship with her boss and communication links with him were made easy. Despite his very busy schedule he found time to communicate advice for my concerns and later discuss these in Clinic. Although he was always clearly, “in charge”, Mr Ekwobi always listened to what I thought and gently guided me to what was best. I cannot speak highly enough about my care under Mr Ekwobi. A credit to the NHS.

I was seen by Mr. Chidi Ekwobi for two consultations and plastic surgery following a diagnosis of skin cancer. Mr. Ekwobi had a lovely way about him, all smiles and a gentle approach which was important to me and what I was going through. I found him very easy to talk to. On the day of the surgery everything went very well and I was extremely well looked after putting me at ease as much as possible in the circumstances. I would thoroughly recommend him as a Doctor. He was such a lovely man to deal with so a big thank you to him.

I recently had diep flap surgery as an implant I had following breast cancer had contracted and was increasingly causing pain and discomfort. I was rather reluctant to put myself through further surgery. I felt I’d had enough and was put off by googling the op and seeing horror photos. I just wanted to box away the whole breast cancer episode and move on. On meeting Mr Ekwobi I felt reassured and optimistic. I immediately had a hunch that I could trust him with it. I was right. Mr Ekwobi and his brilliant team spent 11 hours meticulously undoing all the damage. 2 weeks on and my scars are neat. There was very little pain from the start, more discomfort initially. The breast shape is natural soft and warm. My shoulder is relaxed. I couldn’t thank them enough. I feel I have been restored to me again.
