I had a routine ureteric stent renewal, usually done every 4 to 6 mth. Mr Badrakumar took over my care and inserted a metal stent called a Memokath. He'd previously explained the procedure and said this was a long-term use stent. After the operation, the end of my penis was sore and I struggled for a few weeks afterward until it settled down well. Mr Badrakumar put me at my ease during interview and subsequent appointments, I felt very comfortable in his presence and he answered any questions that I had. This new stent has so far, been in situ for approx 3 yr and according to my recent scan is still in good order and position.

I have suffered with kidney stones for many years, the last episode has been both the worst for pain and the best for treatment. Mr Badrakumar andhis team have treated me with sympathy alacrity honesty and immense skill. I have been cared for at the highest level. My own views were listened to and taken into consideration. I would like to prevent my return and offer the following suggestions, more patient information regarding the origin and make up of their stones, and dietary advice so as to obviate future stones

I was referred to this doctor by my GP after months of suffering from prostate related urinary problems. He diagnosed my condition straight away and , when I found the NHS waiting list for the operation which he advised to be too long, arranged to operate on a private basis within weeks. The operation was carried out at the Woodlands Hospital in Darlington. I received wonderful care and the results were all that I could possibly have wished. I found Dr Badrakumar very knowledgeable, very sympathetic, and an excellent surgeon. I would recommend him without reservation.
