Mr.Kaliaperumal is an excellent surgeon. I suffered from Trigeminal Neuralgia for 18 years. The pain I was in was horrendous, not to mention the amount of daily medications I had to take - I really had had enough of this terrible condition. I had several brain scans where it was found that I had 2 veins compressing the Trigeminal Nerve. I was very fortunate to be referred to Mr. Kaliaperumal who straight away said he could operate - the surgery was Microvascular Decompression (MVD). Unfortunately due to Covid my surgery was postponed, however Mr. Kaliaperumal got me in for surgery as soon as possible which was in September 2020. The surgery has been a huge success. I am now pain free and have also been able to stop taking the medication which is wonderful. Mr. Kaliaperumal is so approachable, he explains everything in a way you can easily understand, he answers all your questions and very much puts you at ease. I’m very impressed by him, he is so professional but so friendly and caring at the same time. I had my surgery at the new DCN unit within the new Hospital for Sick Children & Young People in Edinburgh. I wouldn’t hesitate in having Mr. Kaliaperumal as my surgeon in the future - I wouldn’t want anyone else!!
