Mr Hornung treated me for colon cancer in December 2023, I found him informative, down to earth ,answering my questions in layman’s terms. All his team were very approachable and understanding.

As a mother of a 35 year old bowel cancer patient I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hornung from the outset of diagnosis. I can only say that throughout the whole process he has been considerate professional kind and caring to us all as a family.. We are so grateful to have him as our consultant.

From my first meeting with Mr Hornung I felt comfortable with him as my Bowel Cancer consultant surgeon. He carefully and clearly went through my treatment plan and although his approach was very efficient and professional I still felt he was approachable and interested in me as a patient. This was borne out when I went in for treatment as he came to see me in the waiting room to explain exactly what was happening as my operation approached. Mr Hornung also came to see me the day after the operation and before I left hospital for home. At a time of great personal worry and anxiety Mr Hornung was outstanding and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

At my first consultation I was put immediately at ease by the friendly yet very professional discussion with Mr Hornung. He listened to me before explaining, in easy to understand terms, exactly what my surgery would entail. My questions regarding post-operative recovery were answered fully and honestly. I was totally reassured and I was in a very positive frame of mind on the day of my operation which went very smoothly. I was discharged the same day but not before I was told what to expect over the next few weeks. Again, this was very reassuring. A follow-up call with Mr Hornung took place on the date agreed when I again expressed my satisfaction with the operation and the positive outcome. From beginning to end, I felt that I was in very good hands.
