I was seen at the London ENT Hospital. The whole thing was a nightmare and now I am permanently deaf. Everything was very long winded, irresponsible medical treatment.
I saw this doctor twice over 6 months and he had no interest in actually listening to my presentation. Second time he was 20 mins late for a 9.45AM appt and didn’t even say anything. As an NHS employee I know the cost value and the inconvenience this creates, but a genuine apology/acknowledgment is just basic practice.
He did not take note of the details on what I reported to him during the second consultation today which related directly to the treatment he prescribed in the first consultation 6 months ago. He made and recorded assumptions in my notes and was dismissive about my ongoing tinnitus for which I would have liked to known the underlying cause alongside several other symptoms that have persisted for several months/year including laryngitis, throat clearing and nasal drip. On my questioning he became condescending and repeated textbook replies to me suggesting these symptoms are somehow related to stress and the treatment for tinnutus is talking therapy!! If only I could talk enough.
I have researched my symptoms, which I acknowledged I am no expert in, and had to ask him several questions to which he replied “I don’t know, why do you think you have those symptoms?” . He was very unprofessional and inconsistent in his actions. He decided I should have an MRI because I asked about intercranial pressure, as if it’s my responsibility to bring all the differential diagnoses to him?? How do you trust doctors these days??
Mr A. Shaida is truly a Superb Ear Surgeon.
He has helped keep my hearing, and health in check. Mr Shahida has performed a Cholesteatoma, Vario Titanium implant, grommets and recently a Medel sound bridge middle ear implant VORP 503., surgeries. Always calmly and with extreme precision.
Yet he is very down to earth, kind and modest.
A real Genius. Thank You.
Dr Shaida explained everything clearly, invited questions and was very professional
