Mr Agrawal has performed 2 mastectomies and reconstructions. He is a top rate surgeon with both experience and skill. I have known him now for 6 years and whilst his level of skill was the most important factor in my decision, not far behind was his personal skills From the first time I met him he treated me like an intelligent adult and I have always felt that I have been the one making all the decisions with his knowledge giving me guidance to make those decisions. A cancer diagnosis isn't what anyone would choose but when you have the best surgeon treating you and helping you make informed decisions it makes it a little easier. I like to do my own research and when I had questions about whether his treatment options were the right ones I was always listened to and we had a proper conversation. I never felt like he was frustrated by my "Dr Google" research, he understood that I needed to check things out for myself. He is what all surgeons should be.

The highest level of professional care is given. This means every precious minute of consultation time is focused on the treatment of the illness. The quality of surgery for my skin cancer was much higher than my expectations and all 6 previous experiences of surgery in other parts of the country. Together with wonderful care and attention to detail given by the nursing and administrative staff, my experience with Mr Agrawal at Spire Portsmouth was very efficient, calm, assuring, pain-free and above all effective.

I had breast cancer surgery in 2017 and have since had six monthly appointments with Mr Agrawal along with annual scans and mammograms to check for any early signs of cancer returning. Thankfully I have had no reoccurrence. I have found Mr Agrawal to be pleasant, friendly and professional. He has been happy to answer my questions and discuss options for future monitoring with me. I am very happy to recommend him.

I would highly recommend this doctor. He offered to do my surgery at very short notice and I was told he was a specialist in breast surgery and the best person to go too. I'm so glad I did.A surgery that I didn't want to have done but I had to because of a lymphoma diagnosis. The outcome and the look is so much better than I expected and shows how good he and his team are at what they do. A huge Thank you.

I have had the misfortune to suffer from breast cancer twice, in 2014 and again in 2023. However I have had the great good fortune to have been treated by Mr Agrawal, both times, the first as an NHS patient at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, and the second at Spire Hospital Portsmouth. Both times I have been treated with the utmost kindness, professionalism and skill. He has the ability to inspire confidence, and put you at ease, even in worrying and scary circumstances. Both my surgeries were performed with skill and care. I am a retired surgical nurse, and have met and worked with many surgeons over the years and I have no hesitation in commending and recommending Mr Agrawal as among the best. All the members of his team are equally kind and professional. I count myself fortunate to live in Portsmouth!

Profile

As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.

I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.

I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.

In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
