He was very helpful with everything he did and also listened to what I had to say about my knee.Very friendly and made me feel relaxed before and after the operation.Today I went back to see him and he was still the same.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Unnithan to any members of my family should they need a hip replacement because he cares. He has replaced both of my hips and done a very good job both hips were working perfectly. However, I explained that I now had a pain in my lower spine and also my legs which was slowly increasing so I now had to use 2 crutches to be able to move. He examined me most carefully and suggested I had stenosis in my lower spine. Consequently, he arranged for an MRI scan which confirmed his diagnosis; I am now waiting to see a spine surgeon. Thank you.

My knee replacement surgeon was changed so that the hospital could fit extra surgeries in and I think it surprised both Mr. Unnithan and myself! At our first meeting on the day that surgery was scheduled, he was very concerned that I would not benefit from the surgery as the risk was high that I would not recover my mobility. However, he took the time to listen and did the operation and I am very grateful that he did as it has been far more successful than either of us imagined. I am also grateful for his advice, especially about the use of a cryo-cuff rather than frozen peas to reduce swelling and ease pain - it was comfortable and much safer to use. Also his advice to help stimulate the recovery of the nerves around the site. He fits a lot into a consultation!!! It probably means that his patients tend to have longer waiting times for the meeting, but I wasn't the only patient to say that "It was worth the wait!"

I had rebroken my thigh which was in several pieces, Mr Unnithan spent a long time repairing my fracture, which is now fully healed. Mr Unnithan was and is a very approachable man and reassuring.
