Prior to seeing Mr. Acharya, I had seen two other consultants with regards to my foot problem. One said there wasn't much that could be done and the other said I should try first with some orthotics costing £450. I suffered for 4 years with the most excruciating pains, eventually acquiring a limp, before I decided to seek treatment again. When I went to Mr.Acharya, I was expecting a steroid injection for the pain. When he told me I would need an operation, I was devastated. My Son's wedding was coming up the following year and it couldn't have come at a worst time. The recovery period was 18 months, but I had no choice. If I didn't have the operation I was just going to get rapidly worse. I had adult acquired flat foot and the operation was minimally invasive/keyhole surgery. I thought it was damage limitation but, and I am not prone to exaggeration, he changed my life. Because of my age (57) I had come to accept that I was just going to have to manage my pain for the rest of my life and that long walks were a thing of the past. I never imagined, dreamed or thought it possible that I would again be able to walk with little and most times, no pain at all. I could not only stand at my Son's wedding, but dance too. Not all night, but enough. I walk every morning for 2 hours before I go to work and I am better than I have been for several years. I was confident in his abilities from our first meeting and he didn't disappoint. Would I recommend him. Without hesitation. Thank you Mr. Acharya, for giving me back something I honestly thought I had lost for good. p.s. I'm still only 15 months from my op. :)
