I'm two months into my recovery from quite major abdominal surgery which included the repair of a colovesical fistula, a hernia and an 18cm bowel resection. Dr Gupta performed the operation at Epsom Hospital and as I sit here, I can only call the operation a resounding success! Although I was prepped for the possibilty of a stoma bag, I awoke from my op without one as Dr Gupta had somehow managed quite a sizeable resection without the need for one. This was probably the most relief I've felt in many a year as this really was something I'd hoped to avoid. I'm 58 and this operation wasn't a life threatening one at this stage, more a quality of life issue. I'm so grateful to everyone that helped me, from the initial diagnosis, through to the surgery and finally the aftercare. I'm pain free now and use the loo like a normal person once again, rather than twenty or more times a day! It is without exaggeration to say that Dr Gupta has changed my life for the better and I'll be forever grateful. He's also an exceptionally nice person. No patronising hospital speak, he kept everything plain and easy to understand and listened to my questions. Thanks Dr Gupta! Stefan Canning

During my BUPA health screening I had a routine sample tested and it was found to have high (192) FIT reading. This was alarming and made me very concerned, sadly I went on Google too! I researched consultants as I had a referral and was very fortunate to land on Mr Gupta who I had a timely appointment with. He put my mind at rest and we embarked on a series of further tests, including a Colonoscopy during which some Polyps were removed and sent away for further tests. I also had a CT scan. I’ve just had my follow meeting with Mr Gupta who gave me the great news that all was ok and whilst I need to have routine reviews (suggested 3 years) I am in good shape! His manner, sensitivity to the concerns, his knowledge and calm but assured way of dealing with an emotional and worrying situation was first class. I would recommend him to anyone needing his specialism. I can’t thank him enough.

I had Halo & RAR Op for hemrrhoids and can highly recommend Mr Ashish Gupta and his team for the treatment I had. I was treated with respect and Mr Gupta was informative and was very clear with his communication - I knew exactly what the diagnosis was, what treatment/op I was going to have and post op care was also excellent! The facilities at St Anthony's Hospital were of the highest standard, - very clean/ private and the the whole staff really made me feel welcomed and well looked after. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I recently had surgery for an umbilical hernia with Dr. Ashish Gupta at Spire St. Anthony’s hospital. I am very happy with the care I received. At each step of the journey from pre-surgery consult to the post-operative follow-up, he and his team were professional, courteous, and attentive. On the day of the surgery, I was made comfortable and felt well-cared for by the team. Before leaving the hospital, he provided instructions on how to care for the surgical site and manage any discomfort. My hernia is now a thing of the past and I feel that I can confidently continue with normal life. Highly recommended.

Mr Gupta performed my laparoscopic bowel surgery at the end of March, and i honestly cannot praise him enough. He was kind and caring at every point over the last 6 months., as were his team. This has meant a great deal as it has not been the easiest time for me. The fact that I trusted his advice completely and he explained so thoroughly, the options and potential outcomes, left me with a great degree of comfort and understanding. The surgery went well and I knew what to expect during recovery, thanks to his thoroughness. I feel the best I have in over 2 years already and I can't thank him enough for that.

Thank you CK for your kind remarks. I am so pleased to see you recovered so well with minimal scarring from laparoscopic surgery and not needing a stoma despite a complex colonic mass involving small bowel needing two resections at the same time. Just to clarify for others viewers - she had an elective surgery for chronic symptoms of sigmoid diverticulitis. All the best !
