I was first referred to Dr. Prabhudesai in February 2020 for hemorrhoidal surgery. Due to the pandemic and the NHS traffic i did not receive treatment until June 2021, though i saw Ash various times prior to the Operation. Throughout all of my visits i always felt that my concerns were listened to and the time was taken to explain the various surgical options in an easy to understand way. I felt a strong sense of autonomous care which i've not experienced with many healthcare professionals before - despite being a new patient during one of the busiest times in recent NHS history. Dr Prabhudesai often remembered small details of stories that i had mentioned in the previous visits and other information which i would not expect to be remembered. Following my procedure in 2021, Ash was always on call to check with my recovery and how my symptoms were going. I ultimately needed a slightly more invasive procedure in Feb 2022 and i have had 0 problems since. I always felt well cared for as a patient and through his expertise i am now symptom free and this has drastically increased my overall quality of life. I will be forever grateful for his time, care and work and i know that should i require any help in the future, he will be there to help. THANK YOU!! We need more healthcare professionals like Dr Ash Prabhudesai in the NHS - great doctor with a great heart who knows his stuff and understands great patient care.

Very pleased with the consultation, procedure and after care, I was quite nervous before but was made to feel comfortable and ultimately ended up with no problems after the procedure- very pleased indeed

In 2015 I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer (Stage 3b) at the age of 36. It had already started spreading to lymph nodes before I met Mr Prabhudesai. It was the scariest time of my life. I always prefer to have as much information as possible and Mr Prabhudesai was very nice and very kind to both me and my family. He explained to me the best case scenarios (no stoma), and the expected scenario (a stoma), of my surgery. I had the surgery within a few weeks of going under his care. I ended up with a stoma as he expected (for 15 months). Both he and his team were extremely understanding, kind and caring. Even the nurses on his team were beyond excellent. When I needed to, I have spoken to him even without scheduled appointments. I have seen him when I was concerned about things again without appointment, although as expected I had to wait a few hours (because he was in surgery or doing rounds) but he still took the time to see me despite his busy schedule. He always says if you ever need us just come back. I had my first surgery with him in 2015 in Hillingdon Hospital where he removed the cancer. I had chemotherapy for next 6 months during which both him and his team were available to me and I saw them many times. He operated on me again to close my stoma at the end of 2016. I could go on and on but I would like to share one incident with you. After my surgery I went to see the stoma nurses for something and he was passing by and saw me walking and breathing hard. He told me that I should not take the stairs so soon after the surgery and I responded that I did not, I had taken the lift. He asked me a few questions and then examined me and asked for me to be admitted to the hospital for further tests. I did not go there with a problem but just by passing by my side he could suspect that there was something wrong. That is what you need in a doctor, someone who can spot a problem without a patient saying a word. He honestly answers what you ask. A lot of the times there is no concrete answer, but he told me the best and worst-case scenarios and the expected scenarios based on his experience. Most recently, I met him a couple of days ago. After 6 and half years, he still remembered that my primary concern when I came under his care was not my life but rather my 2-year-old daughter. It is nice to have a doctor who cares. Trust me, I have seen a lot of them. I am lucky that since he took it out, I have not seen any signs of cancer. Although I live in constant fear of a recurrence, I am hoping to be discharged next year with 1 final CT. It is a shame that there are only 5 stars in the review that I can grant. I am sure you can understand why I think that way and why despite moving my home 60 miles away, I still have him as my consultant and I have not shifted my care to a hospital nearby. It takes me nearly 2 hours by car each way to go and see him but I am happy to drive because he is worth it.
