I underwent a inguinal hernia repair under anaesthetic, and his was carried out by Dr Arun Shamugananadan. He took the time to explain to me the how the repair would be carried out, doing his best to ensure I was happy and that I was clear with all procedural steps. He is an extremely knowledgeable surgeon, allowing plenty time for consulting and questions which helped to boost my confidence before and after the operation. This was my first operation and his warm and open manner also was a key asset to put my mind at ease.

Best doctor I’ve had! Very welcoming, kind and polite. Really listened to my problems and concerns, and validated how I felt which is very important to me as a patient with chronic pain. Discussed, in detail, the process of my procedures (colonoscopy and haemorrhoid banding), which made me feel at ease and answered my questions about them. Also, further helped me by having the time to listen to my theory of why I’m in pain, and respond to it with medical advice and support. I was given thorough advice before leaving both times, so was fully aware of how to cope with any post procedure side effects and how to prevent certain things (haemorrhoids) occurring again. I was happy and comforted under his care and only wish more doctors were like him and his team. Thank Dr. Shanmuganandan, for making painful procedures as pleasant as they could be. Wouldn’t change any aspect of my care.

Mr Shanmuganandan is a very professional, caring and emphatic Doctor, his open friendly character immediately puts you at ease. He really listens to you and takes his time. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, Not in a condescending way, he kept in regular contact with me during my treatment with him. I had a sebaceous cyst on my back which had been getting Inflamed regularly over a long period, which caused a lot of pain and discomfort. He removed it after, calming the inflammation first to ensure a more successful outcome. He explained the procedure and the risks clearly, he was very gentle and thorough in making sure he had got it all. Again explaining what he was doing throughout the procedure. I would gladly recommend Mr Shanmuganandan to anyone needing a similar procedure.

Mr Arun has an excellent bedside manner and quickly put me at ease. He explained everything carefully and carried out the procedure skilfully. I was extremely nervous before the procedure and he made sure that I was reassured and given all the information I needed. I would highly recommend him.

I had great care from this doctor from the first appointment through to discussion after the colonoscopy. The procedure was amazingly painless compared to a previous one I had had done by someone else. Very clear discussion about the results in a very compassionate and kind way. Highly recommend this doctor.
