I am 61 man and prior to my hip replacement procedure was becoming increasingly immobile. By October of 2019 I was regularly using strong pain relief medication prescribed by my GP. This just to get through my day. My mobility had diminished to hobbling around and a dread of stairs. Mr Imbuldeniya and his team performed the procedure on my right hip on Friday 3rd Jan 2020. 4 hours after surgery (with the use of a zimmer frame) I was able to "walk" to the toilet. On Monday 6th Jan I was able to return home and used a pair of crutches for the first 6 weeks. From day 1, I followed the physio rehab exercise regime provided by the Teddington Memorial Hospital physio dept. By week 8 I was walking un-aided around the house (I used a single a crutch when outside my home). By week 10, I was walking completely unaided. 3 months later, riding a bicycle, for the first time in two years. All this without pain. 6 months in, I have shed a stone in weight and now lighter than my pre-op weight. I am able to walk several miles without pain. I can even undertake 10 mile bicycle rides pain free. For me, having this procedure has been life changing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Imbuldeniya & his team for the marvelous job they have done. I am truly a new man.

I have had my total knee replacement(left) just 3 months back. I am doing very well. In the beginning, i was very scared to go for this surgery but when I met Dr. Arjuna in his westmiddlesex hospital clinic, I felt a great sense of comfort. He heard me patiently, answered all my queries and most importantly on the day of the surgery, he mentally prepared me to be ready for 'not so good' 1 week post surgery. He explained the recovery timeline which of course is different for each individual but I fairy knew that I am there! To be honest, after reading reviews written for him, I was praying for him to do my surgery and when he came to call me at the reception, I was elated that my prayers have been heard! On the day of my discharge from the hospital, I couldn't meet him but he took no time in replying to my emails. Now I am going ahead with my right knee replacement with him and his fantastic team. Thank you so much Dr. Arjuna and your team...

I had an arthroscopy and repair of torn cartilage under GA in early February having endured 7 months of pain and discomfort. I sought a second opinion with Mr Imbuldeniya having had a consultation with a different surgeon where I was informed that an operation would probably be pointless and I would need to live with the pain and discomfort for the rest of my life. On meeting Mr Imbuldeniya, he listened carefully, carried out a number of movements with my knee which hadn't been done previously, talked about all the options open to me and said that he felt an operation would be a perfectly reasonable approach to sorting out my knee. I duly had the operation and after a month of exercises and physio etc my knee feel fantastic. I am pain free, very mobile, back to my speedy walk and able to run up and down stairs with aplomb! So pleased I sought a second opinion. As a former nurse, I can say hand on heart, Mr Imbuldeniya has one of the best Dr/ Patient approaches I have encountered. Warm , thoughtful, curious, patient, interested and with a great sense of humour to boot, With heartfelt thanks . Dorothy

He is thorough, patient and humorous. With Mr Imbuldeniya I was treated as an individual not just a collection of damaged bones on an x-ray. As I recover from the surgery he explained so well I can say that I wholeheartedly recommend him and admire his attitude to his work.

I recently had hip replacement surgery on the 4th October to celebrate my 55th birthday. :-) Put simply, Mr Imbuldeniya and his team are brilliant! He has a splendid manner, good listener and clearly a very skilled surgeon. The range of motion that I now have, not to mention the lack of pain has improved my quality of life immensely. Unlike some other patients (who had different surgeons) I was given no post op restrictions on what I could do. It was a simple case of get moving and do the rehab whilst respecting the healing process. I was able to get around the house without crutches after 4 days and I actually played golf a few days ago - 10 weeks to the day after the surgery when I was expecting it to take 3-4 months. I'm also in the gym 3-4 times a week now, all I have to do now is sort out my diet ;-). As others have mentioned on this site - do the rehab/physio and get yourself moving. I can't recommend Mr Imbuldeniya and his team highly enough...if you are hesitating about having this done I recommend that you take the plunge asap.
