I had been suffering from the symptoms of a Type 1 Chiari Malformation for approx. 5 years and met with Mr Saxena who suggested that a surgery would stop the problem from worsening and could potentially relieve some of the symptoms I was experiencing. Whilst the idea of Neurosurgery was daunting, I felt the risk/reward was worth undertaking and Mr Saxena explained at length the procedure, the risks and how I should manage my expectations. I had my surgery in April which so far has proved a massive success, I did contract viral meningitis shortly afterwards treated by my local hospital (Whiston), but Mr Saxena (Salford hospital) was in communication with myself and my Wife throughout - A real personal touch from an obviously busy man. All the symptoms I presented pre-op appear to have been relieved, the headaches, difficulty swallowing, the restless legs & arms - all gone. Both my wife & I are eternally grateful for the compassionate and thoroughly professional care we received under both Mr Saxena and Salford Royal. Thank You Barry
