I have just been for a consultation with Dr Anjum Qureshi. I have been in terrible back pain which has affected my quality of life for 15 years and has been getting worse. Dr Qureshi listened to me and gave me options of how he would be able to help. One of the options being an operation. I have come away feeling confident that he will be able to help me. I have a way to go but he has organised a CT scan and X-rays and a follow up appointment with himself before I left the hospital.

Mr Qureshi listens and then diagnoses. He treats his patients with respect and converses on a 1-1 level which was much appreciated.

Mr Anjum Qureshi is a very caring and personable neurosurgeon. He was very good at explaining what surgery I required and how he and his surgical team would obtain the best results possible for my lower spine defects. He took time to answer all my questions both pre and post surgery. Mr Qureshi and his team were also very attentive in the days and weeks following my procedure that has met and exceeded all my expectations. The post operative nursing team at Queen’s Hospital also provided me with great care.

I was diagnosed with a complex schwannoma just before the first lockdown in 2020 and Mr Qureshi was my consultant. Our initial conversations were very open and honest and I was left with no doubt about the seriousness of my condition and what the eventuality could be. His explanation of my condition together with his planned course of action was amazing in keeping me calm and informed. Despite all the issues of securing a bed due to COVID to carry out my operation he continued to pursue it and kept me fully informed. At all stages, he was completely transparent of the complexities and dangers of the op and what my life could be like afterwards which despite being scary was very much appreciated. Once the op was carried out he kept in touch and made sure my recovery was on track. I am told the results have been amazing and that the outcome was better than could be hoped for. I had full mobility from the moment I left hospital. 2 1/2 years on I have just had a further check up, everything is as it should be and I cannot thank this man enough for what he did for me in what was a challenging environment both with COVID and for the condition he was treating me for. I realise not all heroes wear capes and we should remember and appreciate everything they do for us

Mr Quereshi was clear and concise about my condition. I feel he listened and gave me good advice. It was fantastic that there was this extra clinic held on a Sunday. It made the appointment easily accessible and convenient.
