I saw Mr Anil Agarwal late last year 2021to discuss my concerns. He was very kind, considerate, understanding but most important of all he understood exactly what I was trying to say and explain to him. After an initial consultation and us both agreeing on the surgery needed I was placed on a waiting list to go ahead with what I had been informed would be the best option for me. I was called by his team and offered a cancellation, the surgery went ahead in November 2021. I am more than thrilled with the results and as a nurse told me before I went into theatre " don't worry Mr Agarwal is a perfectionist"... she was right .

Dr Agarwal provided me with a great professional service from start to finish with my Gynaecomastia surgery, he was very informative and talked me through exactly what the procedure would entail. I am amazed with the results with minimal scarring and the results were even better than I would have hoped. I would highly recommend him for surgery :)

I recently underwent reconstructive hand surgery following an injury which resulted in a crushed and partially severed index finger. The original injury occurred offshore and had to be self-treated for weeks, so left me with an unhealed fracture, infection and unable to use the finger. Mr. Agawal, consultant surgeon at the Royal Preston Hospital plastic surgery unit, undertook reconstruction of the distal part of the index finger using a bone graft from my elbow. The finger is now fully healed (minus the nail of course), is pain and infection free, and I have recovered full use of the finger. Throughout the treatment Mr. Agawal and all his team were excellent and I cannot praise the level of care enough. I received all the information and advice I needed, and the department did everything they could to fit the operation and follow-ups into a full schedule. Having initially reconciled myself to losing part of the finger, I feel really fortunate to have regained full functionality of the hand.

My son had a prodcedure with Mr Agarwal last year and the difference it has made to my sons life (aged 25) has bee life changing. My son has now blossomed into a happy young man thanks to Mr Agarwals skill, kindness, understanding and patience, nothing was too much trouble for Mr Agarwal, he took as much time as needed to talk to my son before and after the procedure. I wish we had met Mr Agarwal years ago. Mr Agarwal is a very kind man with an amazing skill as a surgeon

Profile

I have been an NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 2008 and currently am in a full-time NHS post at the Royal Preston Hospital.

I completed a Plastic Surgery training programme at PGI Chandigarh, India, in 1994 followed by a 2-year Hand Fellowship at Ganga Hospital, a world-renowned Trauma Centre (Plastic Surgeons also train in Hand Surgery). Armed with sound basic principles but with a view to obtaining outstanding practical results, I decided to train further at the very best Units all over the UK. These included Breast surgery at Manchester, and Hand Surgery at Chelmsford and East Grinstead. During this quest for excellence I published extensively, completed the FRCS (Glasgow), the FRCS (Plast) and 2 Diplomas (British and European) in Hand Surgery.

My clinical interests include:
• Hand and Wrist Surgery (for Nerve Compressions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, Trauma including Hand Bone Fractures, Rheumatoid and Osteo-Arthritis, Trigger finger, and children born with Congenital Differences of their hands)
• Microsurgery
• Skin Cancers
• Aesthetic Surgery of the face, nose, eyelids, breast, abdomen, trunk and limbs

I regularly perform:
• Breast Augmentation, Reduction, Uplifts (Mastopexy), and their combinations
• Male chest contouring (for Gynaecomastia)
• Abdominoplasty and mini-abdominoplasty
• Face and neck-lifts
• Nose refinement (Rhinoplasty)
• Correction of baggy eyelids (Blepharoplasty)
• Body contouring after weight-loss and bariatric-surgery (thigh, buttock and arm-lifts)
• Liposuction
• Botox and fillers, if appropriate

I strongly believe in clearly defining the problem and visualizing the ideal solution. I provide an initial detailed consultation, listening carefully to your viewpoint, and will then explain what I can or cannot achieve using today’s state-of-the-art techniques.

Professional Qualifications:
MB BS, MS (Surgery), FRCS (Glasg),
MCh (Plastic Surgery), FRCS (Plast),
European Hand Surgery Diploma,
British Hand Surgery Diploma (University of Manchester)
