I was referred to Mr Irwin in regards to a torn rotator cuff to my right shoulder. Access & communication was very straight forward via his secretary Val & my first consultation was arranged quickly. Mr Irwin was extremely thorough & meticulous in his examination & diagnosis, ensuring that all necessary tests/scans were conducted quickly. Again my surgical procedure was scheduled quickly, which went very well. Although I am still recovering and having physio my shoulder is mainly pain free with a much improved range of movement. I am very much looking forward to returning to the many sporting activities that I so much enjoy.

I was referred to The Spire Hospital at Harpenden to see Mr Andrew Irwin regarding an ongoing issue with Adhesive Capsulitis ('frozen shoulder'). My experience with Mr Irwin was faultless, from the initial consultation through to surgery and successful recovery. I was helped to understand what the underlying issue was, the options for intervention (we tried an injection before advancing to surgery) and felt that I was in very competent hands throughout. The relief following surgery has been immediate and the resulting improvement in quality of life for me is significant. My thanks go out to Mr Irwin and his team! I have no reservations in recommending Mr Irwin.

I was referred to The Spire Hospital at Harpenden to see Mr Andrew Irwin regarding an ongoing issue with Carpal tunnel Syndrome. From the initial consultation in late 2020, to the operation in late January, Mr Irwin was professional , prompt and informative.The care that I received from him and the rest of the team was first class and even with the follow up consultation on zoom, (where I misread the date of the meeting), Mr Irwin took the time to telephone me to see how my recovery was going, even though this must have impacted his obviously busy schedule. I can honestly say that the whole experience, with the added complication of the current pandemic, was superb. I would highly recommend Mr Irwin and his team.
