Mr Day is a consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. During his training he did a two year fellowship at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit in Guildford where he completed an MD research project which focused on the optimisation of patient care before and after bowel surgery. He also received a nationally-awarded Ethicon laparoscopic colorectal fellowship, during which he received further specialised training in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) bowel cancer surgery. Mr. Day specialises in general and colorectal surgery with a specific interest in laparoscopic bowel surgery, hernia surgery, colonoscopy and the treatment of anal fissures, fistulae and haemorrhoids. He is a JAG accredited colonoscopist. He has a particular interest in 'Enhanced Recovery', which aims to optimise patients’ pre- and post-operative care, in order to improve their recovery following bowel surgery
