After 6 weeks I already feel completely confident of my new right hip. From the outset it seems to have settled in and to be recovering more quickly and with less wound soreness and movement constraint than the left hip done 6 years ago - even though i am that much older. It seems as though the fitting has been more precise and with less disturbance to surrounding muscle. Maybe from Mr Carrothers description this is in part due to the robotics - or he has simply become even better at the operation! I would also like to say how engaging, attentive and thoughtful he was to me. This makes quite difference I think and I feel sure others do too.

I recently underwent a keyhole surgery for my knee that I have been having cartilage degeneration and subsequent pain for a couple of years. This affected my confidence as well. I chose Mr Andrew Carrothers as my surgeon, and he did an excellent job together with his team and anaesthetist Dr Raz Mahroof. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain the procedure to me in detail and answered all of my questions. The surgery went smoothly, and I experienced minimal discomfort during the recovery period. I am very satisfied with the results and within one month, I was back to my normal routine and feeling much better. I highly recommend Mr Andrew Carrothers to anyone who is in need of orthopaedic surgery.

After three years of pain and waiting for a hip replacement with the NHS, I had almost given upon getting someone to listen to me. A friend recommended I made an appointment to see Andrew Carrothers, who immediately made me feel confident that I would be able to walk again if I worked hard at exercising after my operation. In a short time I was booked in for my Mako Robotic Arm Assisted Surgery for my Total Hip Replacement. Although nervous, I was reassured by everyone at Nuffield Hospital and then two days after my operation I was allowed home. Two months after my operation I am now walking pain free without any aid and I have my life back again.

My first appointment with Mr Andrew Carrothers made me feel that someone was finally listening to me and understood the pain I was experiencing that was interferring with my every day life. My hip replacement surgery took place at the Nuffield, Cambridge. I experienced first class treatment and reassurance from my admission to the day I was discharged 3 days later. I experienced no pain, was walking and climbing stairs the following day. Continued to make excellent recovery at home. Physio signed me off after less than 4 weeks. After 5 weeks I was walking unaided. I cannot praise Mr Carrothers and his team enough. I have finally got my life back.
