I’d gone from being a very active 46 year-old to a 47 year-old struggling to walk very short distances so my hip problem was having a big impact on my life. Six weeks on from having a Mako assisted right hip replacement I am now walking as I was before my hip problem started and feeling positive about the future. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Mr Carrothers, he was understanding, reassuring, professional and took the time to listen and explain. I am very grateful for the care that he and his team provided in particular his PA, Carol Morse, who was always helpful, efficient and lovely to speak to.

I was anxious about surgery, and whether I would get good mobility again afterwards, to continue with an active life. After asking a number of friends and colleagues for recommendations, (and being aware of the current NHS waiting times), I went to see Mr Carrothers. He listened, allayed my fears and gave me options for surgery, which he discussed in full, giving me the confidence to go ahead. All the care received prior to, during and after surgery since has been excellent. The post-op physio was pro active, but worth it. My recovery from my Mako partial knee replacement has been rapid and has left me able to return to most activities within 6 weeks. Golf is on the horizon again shortly. Thank you to Mr Carrothers and everyone at the Nuffield for their care and support.

I recently had my second Mako Robotic Assisted hip replacement surgery performed by Mr. Carrothers, and as with the first surgery, his professionalism and surgical skills and follow- on care were exceptional. I would most strongly recommend Mr. Carrothers for hip replacement surgery.

Andrew carried out a robotic-assisted replacement of my left hip 6 weeks ago. This was successful. I am able to walk without pain and without crutches or sticks around the house, and so far up to 4 miles with walking poles. The treatment given has been excellent, with a very thorough risk assessment by the anaesthetist Dr Mahroof, and with helpful aftercare.

I have just had my second hip replacement with Mr Carrothers. This time I had a Mako Robotic total hip replacement. I found the care provided by Mr Carrothers and his team to be excellent. The recovery time was really good and I am very happy with the result.
