I was admitted for a MAKO robotic total knee replacement in the last week of January and haven’t looked back. Since first meeting Mr Carrothers I have felt completely at ease and assured that I had chosen the right surgeon for the job. My knee was a mess following years of sporting abuse and multiple surgeries making the job more complicated than usual. I needn’t have worried as Mr Carrothers has performed wonders on my knee and I am already back to static cycling, driving and walking unaided (personal note - make sure you keep up with your exercises post surgery to aid recovery!) Prof Razeen Mahroof, my anaesthetist was also superb and the sedation followed by spinal block were faultless as was my recovery from surgery. I cannot thank Mr Carrothers and his team enough. If you need a knee replaced then do not hesitate to engage with this amazing surgeon. THANK YOU!!

I came to see Mr Carrothers following a sports related injury where I had suffered a displaced intra-capsular neck of femur fracture. As a result of my injury I required a Total Hip Replacement. I also had previous medical history with my hip making it a complex primary hip replacement. As a very active and relatively young patient in my early 40s I wanted to give myself the best possible chance of returning to where I was prior to my injury. I wanted to be able to continue with my sporting activities. I could not be more grateful to Mr Carrothers for the care I received from him and his team. Right from the start he was very candid, clear in his explanations, and openly discussed all my options. He answered all of the numerous questions I had. I was quite nervous about my procedure due to its complexity but I could not have been in better hands than with Mr Carrothers. The operation was fully successful. I am now 8 weeks post-op and have made excellent progress. I have started some light exercise and am looking forward to becoming more active. I wholeheartedly recommend Mr Carrothers to anyone facing similar injuries or issues.

Mr Carrothers carried out a full knee replacement on my right knee for me in November 2012 which was very successful. As I was suffering from pain in 2023 in my left knee I consulted Andrew again. In my consultation he explained very carefully and in straightforward terms that was easy to understand the problem with the wear in my knee and gave a very clear recommendation that a full replacement would be the best option. The operation was done on 9 January 2024 and I have just returned for my 6 week review which showed that the operation was totally successful. The operation was assisted by the Mako Robotic Arm and I believe that this has resulted in a faster and less painful post-operation recovery. I would recommend Mr Carrothers 100% as an excellent surgeon for knee or hip replacement. In addition to his obvious expertise, he is very friendly and appoachable and has an excellent bedside manner.

I’ve just had my 12 month review and been discharged by Mr Carrothers. I was in a lot of pain and quite concerned about having my hip replaced, but Mr Carrothers put my mind at ease from the very first consultation and throughout my continued care. I felt very confident in his explanation about the procedure and recovery times. He is a kind and lovely man who is passionate about his work and I would highly recommend him and his team.

I had my 12mths review with Mr Andrew Carrothers on Friday 2nd Feb and was discharged by this excellent surgeon. Mr Carrothers and team, including Dr Razeen Mahroof, were never phased by my complex medical history including Parkinson and Mild Von Wilebrand disease. My two total knee replacement operations were both managed with precision and great care including the post op support and guidance. I am grateful for the excellent care of this skilful and passionate surgeon and would like to commend him once again for his excellent care. I am very happy to recommend Mr Carrothers and his team and wish them continued success in helping others gain greater mobility.
