In November 2017 my dog knocked me down six concrete steps. I'm fairly sure this was unintentional but after a visit to A&E (out of the area) I was told I had a broken fibula and was sent home with a 'boot'. I felt there was a little more to it than that and was fortunate to see firstly Mr Norrish (just the one appt) then Mr Andrew Carrothers who explained that my leg was going to mend just fine, but my ankle needed some help (surprise! I hadn't even realised it was damaged as I was so focused on my broken fibula). Andrew fitted a screw to my ankle. I think it is fair to say that at my age (51) I have had good and poor medical experiences over the years, but Andrew is quite an exceptional person. From the beginning he very carefully listened, explained and considered all aspects of my care. He is a brilliant communicator and gave me complete trust. I will probably have more care with Andrew (screw removal) and I will be able to go into this with great confidence purely because I will be in his safe hands.
