In 2016 i was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer for the second time, after being treated in 2014 with chemo and radio therapy. Only option an esophagectomy , removal of part oesophagus and part of stomach , Andrew Baker performed a minimal invasive operation, 8 hours on an overweight man, specialist nurse Michelle was his eyes controlling the camera, 2 days in intensive care, 3 days on a ward and home, a complete success, from one of the largest and most dangerous operations they can perform on a human body. To say that the man has a great talent would be such an understatement, my son nicknamed him iceman , so calm and professional, so a big thank you to Andrew, Michelle and all the team at Wrexham NHS trust.

My mother was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer on July 31st 2018, and was informed that there was nothing that could be done to save her, our family were left devastated by this shocking news, our world collapsed. We decided to seek a second opinion from another doctor at another hospital, we were extremely lucky to find Mr Andrew Baker, who specialises in Upper GI Surgery, including Oesophagus - Gastric Cancer Management and is based at Wrexham hospital. Without delay, Mr Andrew Baker acknowledged our request for a second opinion and arranged the relevant tests required for the investigation of my mother's terminal cancer diagnosis. His thorough and competent investigation concluded that my mother's stomach cancer was in fact, still operable. In November 2018, Mr Andrew Baker and his excellent surgical team performed a total Gastrectomy, saving my mother's life. A BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU to our hero Mr Andrew Baker, also a BIG THANK YOU to Specialist Nurse Michelle, the Surgical Team and Staff on the Critical Care Unit.

Last year I was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer by a doctor at a different hospital. my family and I decided to get a second opinion and to cut a long story short we were so lucky to find Mr Andrew Baker upper GI cancer consultant based at wrexham maelor hospital and Spire hospital wrexham. I urge anyone who is looking for a second opinion for stomach cancer then look no further than Mr Baker he is straight down the line with you And he has your best interest at heart and if he feels he can help you he keeps you informed every step of the way. Mr Andrew Baker has turned my original terminal diagnosis all the way round and I recently had a major operation to remove my stomach cancer and I am now back at home recovering. How can you thank someone who has literally saved your life, you can't. Doctor Baker is my hero and he will fight his patient's corner if he has too. and he could not improve anymore as in my eyes he is already at the top of his game, and no matter what happens in the future I will always be thankful for what this doctor has done for me and my family. From the bottom of my heart massive THANK YOU MR ANDREW BAKER.
