Mr Prachalias did Whipple surgery in September 2020 because of diagnosis of Adenocarcinoma. I had never met him until the day before my due operation that was unable to take place because of marks on my liver. The op finally took place at end of September. Since said surgery I was unable to have chemo because of weight loss and diarrhoea problems, still on going after 2 years 3 months. If I had been told about this I would not have undergone surgery. I have very little quality of life and have to cancel last minute due to stomach problems. Guy’s Cancer Centre have been excellent and now I also attend Gastro Department at Guy’s, but even they have not been able to help me. I have always suffered an intolerance to pork products and the medication I have to take when eating is made of pork. I ask on many occasions could this be my trouble to be told keep taking and up the quantity of Creon. My feeling is that things were not explained enough at my initial meeting with one of the Team and Nurse who was present. I have been diagnosed also with BAD, shown by a SEHCAT scan. This should have been done pre op I would have thought. My diabetes is totally out of control and I have had very little dealings with any dietician. I would love to have advice as to how I deal with this life. My Social life and Hobbies have been taken from me.

Mr Prachalias performed a distal pancreatectomy on me on 1st of September 2020. I seem to be recovering well and would highly recommend this surgeon as he clearly knows what he is doing and has a very approachable manner, which is not very common amongst professionals of his level.

On 7th September 2019, Mr Andreas Prachalias operated on me at the London Bridge, Hospital for a planned laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, my condition turned out to be rather more serious and complicated. As a result, my stay in hospital was prolonged and I was an in-patient for two weeks. Mr Prachalias proved to be very patient answering my many questions and I found him to be most thorough and attentive during my stay in hospital. He is very approachable and has a charming manner. He is technically excellent as a surgeon with the added advantage of being a good and sound doctor, who is clearly passionate about his particular area of medicine. I have since made an excellent recovery and am very grateful to him for his care and expertise. I would recommend him highly.
