Recently whilst staying at my holiday chalet in Norfolk I accidentally tripped and fell over backwards. The result was that I landed very heavily on my right side and fractured my hip. I was admitted to the James Paget hospital orthopaedic trauma ward and was placed under the care of Mr Nakhla. After a discussion with him about my normal activity levels, Mr Nakhla advised me that my best chance for a 100% recovery would be to have a full hip replacement. It is now six weeks since my surgery and I am now back home in Lincolnshire; driving, walking completely unaided, starting yoga classes again, in fact doing almost everything that I used to do prior to my accident - just as Mr Nakhla had predicted I would!! I would like to offer Mr Nakhla, all of his fantastic team, the nurses and staff on the trauma ward, the physios and everyone involved in my care during my stay at the James Paget my sincere and heartfelt gratitude and thanks for the excellent care and attention that I received from each and every single one of them. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

Great surgeon, puts you at ease the moment you see him. Good sense of humour too which is a bonus on operation day.

Having taken a fall my mother’s knee & leg were badly broken, to the point that the trauma team thought she may never be able to walk properly again! Along comes Mr Nakhla with his positive attitude. He will be able to repair both breaks, & with her will to walk, & assistance from the physio team she should recover well! To cut a long story short, we have just returned from a hospital visit to see Mr Nakhla in his clinic. In three months, the bone graft has taken, the screws have held, & both knee & leg are working well, with almost full movement returning to my ninety year old mother’s leg, her garden & plants await her, & in time full movement too! I would just like to offer to Mr Nakhla, his team, nurses, physios & everyone involved in my mother’s care, both mine & my parents deepest thanks for their excellent work. And all this during COVID-19...Superheroes! A final check awaits in a further three months, hopefully her garden will be in full bloom & Mr Nakhla will have cleared a very happy patient. Many thanks for your exceptional work Mr Nakhla. Kind Regards Dan Boyce

Great pre-op care which was very informative. Doctor stressed the importance of exercise before and after which has contributed to a speedy recovery. The operation scar is very neat and is fading already after 9 weeks.
