I underwent an experimental stem cell transplant some years ago and understood that evidence for its efficacy was yet to emerge. However I expected careful follow up and documentation of any improvement which did not happen indeed when I reported only slight improvements that I attributed to time off work and good physio he lost interest. There was no long term follow up so how could he know if the stem cell treatment had worked or not? This is very poor clinical practise.
