Mr Benson is a consultant eye surgeon who specialises in Vitreo-Retinal surgery and is based in Yorkshire. His elective in ophthalmology was undertaken in Bloemfontein, South Africa before starting his ophthalmology training in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He completed his specialty training in Yorkshire, including sub-specialty training in vitreo-retinal surgery in Leeds. Mr Benson is a skilled surgeon with expertise is managing complex cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy and diseases of the vitreous and retina.

I have been under the care of Mr Benson for a while now and he is that brilliant mix of passionate, knowledgeable and caring. Communication is important and he is clear and takes time to discuss his proposed treatments and answer questions and concerns. Better than the previous care I received on Harley street. I recommend Mr Benson with alacrity.

Having had a number of recent eye operations after 13 years without issues, any worry or trepidation I had about my situation has been nullified by Mr Benson’s approach, communication, honesty & professionalism since I came under his care. From checkups to surgery, I have felt totally at ease & have had complete trust in Mr Benson. An absolutely perfect example of what a patient would want in a Doctor & I feel privileged to have experienced it.

Having just seen Mr Benson as an eye casualty patient, I can say he was professional, thorough, friendly, and explained my diagnosis to me. I felt very comfortable with Mr Benson and would be more than happy to see him again, if the need arose. Thank you.

Mr Benson was straight to the point, very confident in his diagnosis which gave me confidence and gave straight forward advice about any symptoms that might warrant me going back to A&E. Thank you.
