Mr Sweed was thorough and attentive throughout my time as his patient. I felt informed about the whole process from initial consultation to aftercare following an operation. I no longer suffer from the symptoms I had and it has increased my confidence.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Sweed, the most thorough, kind & 100% reassuring consultant I have ever visited. If there were more like him the NHS would be fantastic.

Profile

Mr Sweed is an ENT consultant at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust . He is registered with the GMC (6161363) and is on the specialist register for Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons. Mr Sweed is happy to see all patients with general ENT problems and is particularly interested in thyroid disease and nodules (goitre), parathyroid and salivary gland disease, nasal problems like sinusitis and nasal allergy, as well as children’s ENT problems such as recurrent sore throats and deafness.

''I graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School in Egypt in 1999. I finished my higher surgical training at Ain Shams University Hospitals to be appointed as a Lecturer and Consultant in the Otolaryngology department. Towards the end of my training, I was awarded a prize scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education during which I did my first head and neck surgery fellowship at St. Georges NHS Trust in London.

I enjoyed working in the NHS and decided to move back to the UK after finishing my exit exam in Egypt. I had further training in general adult and paediatric ENT surgery at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust before doing my second head and neck fellowship with special focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

I manage a wide range of ENT conditions but my special interests are thyroid and parathyroid disease, as well as endoscopic nasal surgery. I believe in listening to my patients and involving them in deciding what is the most suitable management plan for them. I am committed to delivering the best quality of care and, as the clinical governance lead and head & neck cancer lead, believe I have contributed positively to the safety and quality of care patients receive at Mid Cheshire Hospitals.

Outside of work, I enjoy going out with friends, reading novels and spending quality time with my son and twin girls''
