WAS SEEN BY HIM ON 27TH OF June 2019 AS I HAVE A GASTRIC PACEMAKER IN FOR GASTROPARESIS AND THE BATTERY HAS RUN OUT AND I NEED IT REPLACED. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD DO THIS AND MAKE ME A PRIORITY. ON 27TH JULY I HAD A PRE ASSESMENT DONE AND WAS FOUND FIT FOR SURGERY. I PHONED THE WAITING LIST AT NINEWELLS HOSPITAL IN SEPTEMBER 2019 AND WAS TOLD THAT HE HAD IN FACT PUT ME ON THE ROUTINE WAITING LISY RATHER THAN THE URGENT WAITING LIST AND IT WOULD BE 9 MONTHS BEFORE I WOULD HAVE MY REPLACEMENT DONE. I CONTACTED MY GP AS I AM IN SEVERE PAIN AND COSTANTLY VOMITING DO TO MY GASTROPARESIS AND THEN HE PUT ME ON THE URGENT WAITING LIST ON 6TH OCTOBER 2019. ON NOVEMBER 2019 I RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM NINEWELLS WAITING LIST AND SAID I WAS TO HAVE THE REPLACENENT DONE ON 18TH DECEMBER 2019. I HAD ALREADY INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD BE AWAY ON HOLIDAY BETWEEN 17TH OF NOVEMBER UNTIL 22ND OF DECEMBER AND RECIEVED CONFERMATION OF THIS NOTIFICATION SO WHEN I SAID THAT I INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD NOT BE IN THE COUNRY ON THAT DATE AND I HAD INFORMED THEM I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NOT CHECKED THEIR SYSTEM FOR THIS. I HAD TO GO BACK TO NINEWELLS FOR A REFRESH AND THEN RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM MY DIABETIC NURSE TO SAY MY BLOODS SUGARS WERE A BIT HIGH AND BEFORE HE WOULD DO THE REPLACEMENT MY SUGAR LEVELS WOULD HAVE TO COME DOWN A BIT. WHEN I HAD MY PACEMAKER PUT IN IN MAY 2011 MY SUGAR LEVELS WERE A LOT HIGHER THAN IT IS NOW. I FEEL HE IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE ANY EXCUSE NOT TO DO THE REPLACEMENT OPERATION ON ME. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMMUNICATION FROM HIM AT ALL SINCE 27TH OF JUNE 2019 SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY FAITH IN HIM AT ALL. IF HE DOES NOT WANT TO DO THE REPLACEMENT THEN I WOULD RATHER HE BE UP FRONT AND TELL ME THEN I WOULD KNOW THE SITUATION RATHER THAN HIM PUSSY FOOTING AROUND AND MAKING EXCUSES FOR NOT DOING THE OPERATION.

Mr. Alijani and his team looked after me when I was admitted as an emergency patient to Ninewells University Hospital. The care and treatment I received was excellent. I feel very confident about having an operation because of that care I received. I was most impressed with Mr. Alijani's gentle manner and humour, and the way he interacted with his young collegues. The health care we receive in East Scotland is excellent. I asked my MSP Stephen Gethins to report my views to the Scottish Executive; he did so, and a response was received. Thanks.

Very Thankful for the care and consideration of Mr Alijani and his team at Ninewells Hospital recently after suffering a severe internal haemorrhage. Have recovered well through much mercy :)

I met Mr Alijani when I was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus and he operated on me along with his team at Ninewells, Dundee. One year on from the removal of my oesophagus and replacement with part of my stomach by Mr Alijani I am totally healed, scars almost invisible and eating more or less normally. Apart from successfully having performed my surgery Mr Alijani explained in great detail what was being done to me at each stage of my stay at Ninewells. He is a modest man with no airs and graces who is prepared to answer even the simplest questions or tell you if he does not know the answer – humility personified. David Wallace.
