Adrian Fairbank did an arthroscopy on my left knee in 2012 and said it would need replacing in the not too distant future and he was right. I had always been pretty much sporty and active but was finding life difficult, painful and a bit miserable because of the arthritis damage to my knee. He replaced it for me in December 2014, three weeks before my 60th birthday. Eight months later I am playing tennis again and can move on court better than before and this week I went horse-riding for the first time since the surgery. The entire experience, although daunting beforehand, has been pain free and I find Mr Fairbank confidence inspiring, reassuring, warm, encouraging and anything else you would want your knee replacement surgeon to be. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or to have him replace my other knee should it ever become necessary. Big thank you to Adrian for, in effect, giving me my life back.

I first broke my ACL playing rugby about 10 years ago and was referred to Mr Fairbank by my rugby club. Since the ACL reconstruction, I have had a few more operations to correct meniscus tears and, all I can say, is that on each occasion I have walked out of the hospital on the same day, pain free and made a rapid and full recovery within weeks. Mr Fairbank is clear, calm and highly professional. He exemplifies what it means to be a true expert in his field and I cannot recommend him highly enough. In addition, his secretary, Pauline, is superb and ensures that everything runs like a well oiled machine. She is the epitome of efficiency but without loss of the all important personal touch.

My 13 year daughter sustained a meniscal injury in late 2014. Clearly we were anxious to get the right person to assess and manage her. Adrian Fairbank came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We were delighted with his professional and caring approach. He recommended arthroscopic repair of her torn medial meniscus and explained at length the pros and cons of the proposed treatment. The operation went smoothly and with the help of the excellent physiotherapy team our daughter was playing hockey again and completely asymptomatic within a couple of months. A lost season was recovered, and more importantly, a successful outcome was achieved. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Mr Fairbank.

Mr Fairbank has been most helpful to me and after a thorough examination gave me comprehensive feedback on my situation. However, it is not always possible to remember accurately everything that is said in a consultation and I would find it helpful to have a copy of the letter sent to the GP.

I had a knee replacement 6 weeks ago, and was expecting the worst! I had been told that the pain would be unbearable but the whole experience was far better than I could have imagined. Surprisingly I have had no pain at all. At first I assumed that this was because of the painkillers in the hospital but when I stopped taking them there was still no pain. I am told that every knee is different so when I have my second knee done in a few months there is no guarantee that the experience will be the same,but I am still expecting miracles. Mr Fairbank, you have been warned......
