I am sorry not to find this website before to thank Mr Helmy for all he did to save my life in February 2020 after I had an SAH. I am so thankfully to him for his care and excellent surgery which is why I am still here today. He operated again the April to stent the aneurysm and I am doing very well. It was the most traumatic time of my life and he was very reassuring and kind. Thank you to all the staff at Addenbrookes too.
I was very recently diagnosed with a massive meningioma, the size of a tennis ball. Tangled up in the nerves, I possibly had a short period to live as I was going downhill rapidly. Mr Helmy ensured surgery was prioritised, and the risks were clearly explained.
After a complex 12 hour operation, the tumour was out and the operation a success.
I was overwhelmed at how Mr Helmy kept my family appraised during the surgery, and how empathic he was.
A wonderful man, with a great team at Addenbrookes. I hope I get the opportunity to thank him personally at my 8 week meeting shortly!
Sincere thanks Adel
Thank you for your kind feedback.
My Helmy operated on our 35 year old son who had a brain epidermoid cyst. Mr Helmy was excellent, he explained everything thoroughly and had genuine compassion.
The cyst couldn’t be fully removed, and our son has just found out it has grown slightly again. But knowing Lee is under Mr Helmy’s care, who will assess any potential growth, makes us feel very reassured.
Thank you very much for the kind review
Mr Helmy made me feel very comfortable and was very good at explaining everything made me feel at ease , he’s a caring doctor who cares for his patients and has compassion.
Thank you for your kind review.
I recently had a sudden operation to remove a large meningioma. I cannot fault the excellent care given by Mr Helmy and the whole team . He answered my long list of questions with patience and clear language and made a frightening experience much more bearable . I am still in the early days of recovery but am happy that I am in good hands
