I cam to Mr. Meir as I needed emergency surgery due to a collapse of my spine. He inserted two titanium rods in my back and fixing them with screws into two vertebrates above and below the collapse. The surgery was supposed to take 2 hours, but due to the poor state of the vertebrates it took 5 hours. This successful surgery meant that I could stand, walk and even run again after relearning and it gave me approx 90% of my movement back. It felt like 100% to me. Very importantly I had no pain in my back for over 4 years after the surgery. Now some screws have come loose and to get this corrected it seems that only Mr Meir is willing to do this surgery. During the past five and a half years Mr Meir has always listened to my concerns with an open mind. He has been forthcoming with any information that I have asked for. I cannot see how I could have received a better care than has been the case.

I was in the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgegy as a patient of the Neurosurgeon Mr Neil Kitchen who diagnosed a problem with my neck and referred me to Mr Adam Meir who diagnosed Cervical Spondylitic Myelopathy Secondary to Stenosis (this meant that the bones in the cervical spine had trapped not just the nerves but had compressed the spinal cord and I was in danger of becoming quadriplegic). He performed a Posterior cervical decompression and an occipito-cervical fixation in February 2010 and thereby saved my life. Due to an infection he was later forced to remove the metalwork in October 2010 but this has worked for me as the fixation had given time for C3 to C7 to fuse whilst leaving C1 and C2 free so I am able to move my neck and everything seems fine again now. He is not only an excellent surgeon he is always for friendly and helpfull and takes time to discuss things with his patients no matter how busy he is. Patient - Frank (Jack) Jackson
