He heads a brilliant team - at every stage, whoever dealt with me, I felt cared for by people with great expertise. From start to finish I was informed by people who clearly knew what they were talking about and NEVER felt rushed through. He epitomised this.

Mr Farquharson was always happy and polite with every visit and phonecall i had worh him. He always made me feel like I was his only patient and gave me the time I needed as well as a clear explanation of the procedure I was having. I had a ventral mesh rectopexy, honestly it has been life changing. My recovery was as expected, tiredness was the biggest issue. And I would say within a week my toileting habits, urgency and frequency were back to how they were Iver 10 years ago. It's life changing in the best possible way Also the anesthetist and team were fantastic I had a general and spinal and it worked perfectly.

After tests and an MRI scan Mr Farquharson confirmed a diagnosis of bowel cancer. He gave me a full picture of the diagnosis and explained the course of action. He carried out an Ileostomy operation in June of this year, and subsequently a reversal procedure 2 weeks ago. I found Mr Farquharson straight forward and easy to talk to. His positivity gave me great confidence and helped me both understand the surgery, and approach the operations with confidence.

I cannot rate Mr Farquharson highly enough for my care as the care I received was exemplary. Mr Farquharson is professional and kind I was given all information with honesty and clarity (I don't like waffle). Whilst I was an in-patient I was seen daily. I had a post op wound infection and I struggled with the bowel preparation. Mr Farquharson apologised for the infection even though I did not apportion blame as it is a risk with surgery also he acknowledged my struggles with the bowel prep seriously, offering me a possible alternative for the future. These simple acts displayed time taken to read my notes, listen to me seriously, address my concerns and answer any questions without patronising and improve my experience. Mr Farquharson was also explaining he was training on specialist surgical techniques to improve patient outcomes this is only to be applauded showing a continuous strive for excellence to benefit patients under his care. Mr Farquharson is a kind, caring and compassionate surgeon, I would choose to remain under his care (at least until he retires!) and thank you from the bottom of my heart for my care and my life from myself and my daughter.
