Adam Blackburn is an exceptional surgeon as well as being caring, attentive and dedicated to his work. I had had a LD flap reconstruction carried out by another surgeon but unfortunately the cancer returned and the radiotherapy I received led to issues with one of my implants. Adam carried out a DIEP flap reconstruction back in November 2022 and I cannot be happier with the result, the scarring is minimal as is the pain and aesthetically I was quite frankly blown away with what he achieved! All the staff at QVH were excellent.

I have no words to express my extreme gratitude for Dr Adam. I had a tummy tuck done a month ago. Dr Adam went through every single detail and listened to all my concerns and answered every question, he was compassionate and caring throughout the whole journey. On the day of the surgery, he explained everything again with patient and when I asked if extra liposuction could be done at the same time, he had my best interest in mind when carefully explaining why I don’t need it. Everything went so smoothly with no complications. Dr Adam was there when I woke up after the surgery and then again an hour later in the hospital room for reassurance and he provided his personal phone number so I can get direct access if I had any post-op concerns (when I texted him a couple of days after surgery about concerns I had, I got a reply within second then he called me for reassurance). The results I got after my tummy tuck exceeded all my expectations. I have a tummy that I am so proud of and even though it’s only been a month and the swelling hasn’t gone completely yet, I can see the definition of my abs’ muscles. Dr Adam did an amazing job and I couldn’t have asked for anything more, even the scar that hasn’t faded yet looks absolutely fine. I had three follow up appointments even though I didn’t have any complications and Dr Adam checked on my stitches every-time and answered my questions happily and gave me his full attention. I was extremely fortunate that I have found Dr Adam and would blindly recommend him and can’t thank him enough for what he’s done for me.

I cannot praise Mr Blackburn enough for my recent breast reduction. He is one of the nicest consultants I have ever met, he is kind, caring and has a fabulous sense of humour. The surgery was pretty straight forward and I am so happy with the results. I had some issues after surgery not really related to the breast reduction as such, he called me, sent WhatsApp messages and sent emails almost every day checking up on me until things settled down. He saw me several times in clinic & at the weekend as well with no hassle. He uses Carebit portal which means you get your notes, letter & consultants information really quickly. Again I'd highly recommend him for a breast reduction.

Last year, Mr Blackburn successfully removed the breast implants that I'd had 7 years ago when I was living abroad. I'd originally wanted an uplift, but was told by two surgeons that the best solution for breasts that had lost shape and fullness would be a simple enlargement. I always felt the implants were too large for my fairly slim frame: my breasts increased from a 32C to a 32E, with high-profile implants, even though I'd been told 32D would be the maximum size to expect. Last year, I'd really had enough of them, and was extremely fortunate to find Mr Blackburn. In addition to removing the implants, he also lifted the breasts to re-instate some of their original perkiness. What a fantastic result! They look better and fuller than they did 10 years ago, and the scars have faded and flattened to almost nothing, barely noticeable unless I lift my arms. Mr Blackburn has an absolutely lovely manner. He explained the procedure very clearly, and I always felt comfortable during the pre- and post-op examinations. I just wish I'd been able to go to him for an uplift 7 years ago, before the implants!
