What a wonderful surgeon. What a wonderful human being. No doubt Mr Ben Sassi and the team saved my life. 2 big ops. So giving of his time. Explained everything. Even popped into the ward Christmas Day morning to check up on me. I'll be forever grateful. Thank you NHSWales

I was admitted to Wrexham Maelor Hospital in the middle of the Covid crisis for an emergency operation. This was conducted by Mr Ben Sassis and his team and I cannot speak too highly of the way I was treated by him and all members of the Team. Mr Ben Sassis was not only a very highly skilled surgeon, he was also a kind and caring person who treated his patients with great respect. I also appreciated the time Mr Ben Sassis gave to me during the post operative period and afterwards during the periodic check ups. At a time when certain sectors of the medical profession have come under a degree of criticism, Mr Ben Sassis, in my opinion, is an outstanding practitioner who epitomises all that is good in his profession.

A very caring man and explained in detail what the operation entailed thus making one feel less nervous and have confidence in his ability.

From my personal dealings with Dr Sassi and his team I was extemely impressed with his patient care, support and speed in which my IBD was diagnosed. Doctors seeing me in the early hours of the morning to DR Sassi seeing me at 8am and an urgent CT scan just hours later diagnosed a condition I had been suffering with for some time. To DR Sassi and his team. Thankyou so much - its a small word but your care and support and diagnosis in such a busy world and at a weekend meant so much to me. Keep up the good work.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer in January 2016. Mr Sassi explained my position thoroughly and the procedures required. He carried out the initial surgery and subsequent surgery that was needed, and kept me fully informed about my condition during my 8 week stay in hospital. He had a very good bedside manner and I felt able to speak freely with him. He was also able to discuss issues with my partner which was re-assuring for her as well as me. He seemed interested in my personal case, despite being a very busy and hard working doctor. A thoroughly nice man, who I could not praise enough.
