I began to get blurred and distorted vision to my left eye. As I was making little progress with the NHS I decided to seek a consultation with Mr Ellabban, which I was able to get within a week of my enquiry. Mr Ellabban gave me a thorough eye examination and advised me that I required epiretinal membrane surgery / retinal peel. This was carried out soon after my diagnosis. Mr Ellabban spent a good deal of time with me explaining my diagnosis and again on follow up appointments after my surgery. I have found Mr Ellabban to be very approachable and very professional and would recommend him to others without hesitation.

I was unfortunate to be diagnosed with a macular hole which required surgery. From my diagnosis through to surgery and follow up Mr Ellabban showed kindness, was professional, sympathetic and a very talented surgeon who made me feel totally safe in his care. This is the first time that I have had any surgery so was very nervous and anxious especially having an operation on my eye. Mr Ellabban and his team at The Hull Eye Hospital were so reassuring and looked after me , putting me at ease. He explained what he was doing and whilst no operation is nice I came away feeling it certainly wasn’t as bad as I had imagined it was going to be which I was grateful for being my first experience of surgery. We are very lucky to have The Eye Hospital here in Hull and so would like to thank not only Mr Ellabban and his team but also the whole department. I had the pleasure of being treated by Mr Ellabban, a consultant ophthalmologist, for my cataract surgery. I was very impressed by his brilliant personal and professional skills. He was very friendly, patient, and attentive to my needs and concerns. He explained the procedure and the risks in a clear and reassuring way.
