Mr Ghazanfar is a consultant transplant surgeon who has worked at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2012. He holds honorary consultant posts at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust and an honorary senior lecturer post at St George’s University of London. Mr Ghazanfar is currently the lead for vascular access surgery at St Helier Hospital and lead for transplant medical education.

Mr Ghazanfar qualified as doctor from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan, in 1998. He completed his general surgical training at King Edwards Medical College and Mayo Hospital in Lahore, Pakistan, and successfully completed his fellowship degree. He moved to UK in 2004 and undertook a clinical and research fellowship at Manchester Royal Infirmary where he worked from 2005 to 2012. His training included multi organ retrieval, kidney transplant in paediatric and adult recipients, pancreas transplantation and surgery for encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis.

Mr Ghazanfar has profound interests in clinical research and medical education. He has presented his work in national and international conferences and has published articles in renowned journals. He is actively involved in medical education and supervision of medical students at different levels.
